Iso Sistemi was founded in July 1996 on the initiative of a team of professionals with more than twenty years' experience in management positions with major corporations operating on an international scale.

In 1997 they founded a strategic partnership collaborating with the Danieli Group on information systems and steel mill automation projects all over the world, and with the Coop, supplying information systems for retail management.

In 1998 the Level 1 automation system was completed for the Hadeed cold rolling mill in Al-Jubail (Saudi Arabia), marking the beginning of an evolutionary line leading to production of steelmaking models and Level 1 and 2 systems for steel mills all over the world.

In 2000 Iso Sistemi entered the business intelligence field and signed a partnership agreement with SAP BusinessObjects, a world leader in the field.

Collaboration with research institutes has been constant Iso Sistemi policy throughout the company's history: an agreement was signed with the Materials Development Centre - Centro Sviluppo Materiali (CSM) - in Rome in 2004 and a convention was signed for collaboration with the Engineering Department (DIBE) in Genoa University in 2006.

In order to broaden the range of services offered to customers, at the end of 2005 Iso Sistemi purchased the majority share in BeeCom; in early 2006 it signed partnerships with BeeCom and BMC Software for Business Service Management.

In February 2007 Iso Sistemi's partnership with the Engineering Department at the University led to the foundation of Smartware & Data Mining, the first spin-off in which the University of Genoa directly owns shares.

Also in 2007 Iso Sistemi set up a business unit concerned with plant simulation drawing on international know-how.

In July 2009 Iso Sistemi acquires 100% of BeeCom, purchasing the shares of minority shareholders.
